Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading, installing, or using Tacet ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. What Tacet is — and isn't

Tacet is non-custodial wallet software. It gives you the tools to generate, hold, and use blockchain addresses, and to sign transactions locally on your own device. Tacet is not a bank, is not a custodian of your funds, and at no point holds, controls, or has access to your assets, recovery phrase, or private keys. We do not provide investment, financial, tax, or legal advice, and nothing in the App or on this website should be understood as such.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, and have the legal capacity to enter into these terms, to use Tacet. You're responsible for complying with any laws that apply to you, including local rules on cryptocurrency use.

4. Your responsibilities

• Your recovery phrase is the only way to access your wallet. You are solely responsible for backing it up and keeping it secret — anyone with it has full control of your funds.
• You are responsible for verifying transaction details (recipient address, amount, network) before confirming — blockchain transactions cannot be reversed once broadcast.
• You will not use Tacet for any unlawful purpose, including money laundering, financing illegal activity, or evading sanctions.
• You are responsible for any tax obligations arising from your use of the App.

5. Risks you accept

By using Tacet, you acknowledge and accept the inherent risks of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology, including:

• Price volatility and potential total loss of value of any asset.
• Irreversibility of confirmed blockchain transactions.
• Permanent loss of access if you lose your recovery phrase, since Tacet cannot recover it for you.
• Risks inherent to third-party networks, smart contracts, and services that Tacet connects to but does not control (for example, swap providers, staking pools, and the underlying blockchains themselves).

6. Third-party services

Certain features — swaps, staking, address risk-screening, and push-notification delivery for chat — are provided through integrated third-party services. Tacet facilitates access to these services but is not responsible for their availability, accuracy, or performance. Your use of any third-party service may be subject to that provider's own terms.

7. Share Access

Tacet lets you grant another device view-only or full access to a wallet. If you grant full access, you are giving that device the same control over the wallet's funds as your own — this is a deliberate action on your part, and Tacet is not responsible for how a device you've granted access to chooses to use it.

8. Intellectual property

The Tacet name, logo, and app design are the property of their owner. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute them without permission, except as allowed under our Press Kit guidelines.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The App is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Tacet and its team are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of funds resulting from user error, loss of a recovery phrase, third-party service failure, or blockchain network behavior outside our control.

10. Termination

You may stop using Tacet at any time by deleting the App. Because Tacet is non-custodial, uninstalling it does not affect your on-chain assets — access to them depends solely on your recovery phrase.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we do, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Tacet after a change means you accept the updated terms.
